The Chicago Highlanders will be fielding a very competitive Grade IV band in 2012. There is room for more Grade IV pipers to fill out our ranks. The band had a very successful 2011 season, finishing 2nd overall in the Grade IV division of the MWPBA.
We also hope to field another Grade V band in 2012, and need Grade V drummers and pipers to make this happen. The 2nd place overall finish that our brand new Grade V band achieved in 2011 was a great experience for all involved!

Soloists win Champion Supreme

At the end of the 2011 Solo Competition Season, 4 Highlanders were awarded the title Champion Supreme.
Piper Chris Farruggia in the Grade 2 2/4 March, 6/8 March, Hornpipe-Jig, Strathspey-Reel and Piobaireachd categories;
Piper Mary Thrasher in the Grade 4 2/4 March category;
Piper Jeff Harris in the Senior Novice March category;
Drummer Brad Miller in the Snare March category.

The Chicago Highlanders will be performing in the Bartlett Independence Day Parade on Sunday, June 3rd at 1:00 pm; Lake Bluff on Monday, June 4th at 10:00 am and then Evanston at 2:00 pm. Come out and enjoy a parade!
Drummers dominate in Chicago

Congratulations to our Grade V Drum Corps: First in drumming, and Best Bass section. The Grade V band placed 2nd overall. Congrats to our Grade IV drummers too! Best Bass section in the Grade IV Medley. The Grade IV band placed 5th overall in a highly competitive field.
1st in Milwaukee

The Chicago Highlanders Grade 4 band took 1st place at the Milwaukee Games on Saturday, June 4th. Best Bass Section, and 1st in Drumming. There were 12 bands competing.
